Natural hair masks are a great and natural way to treat and pamper your hair. Before preparing your natural hair mask, the first step is recognizing your hair-type:
- Dry Hair has a tendency to look dull. It often has split ends and damages easily.
- Oily Hair generally gets greasy if not washed daily and can make your hair look dirty.
- Combination of Oily and Dry Hair is often due to over-styling and brushing. It can be oily at the roots and dry at the ends.
- Normal Hair is a blessing and doesn’t require excessive treatments. It usually looks shiny, lacks excessive damage and is easy to manage.
Ingredients for Natural Hair Masks Based on Hair Types
Once you figure out your hair type, the second step is figuring out which fruits, vegetables and other natural ingredients will be best to add into your natural hair mask batter.
- Dry hair requires natural ingredients that can bring life back into your hair. This means, you will need ingredients that are rich with oils and other beneficial nutrients.
- Oily hair, on the other hand, requires ingredients that aren’t rich in natural oils. The ingredients you add into your hair mask batter should help to reduce excess oil.
- For a combination of oily and dry hair, the best natural ingredients to add are ones that can “balance” your hair type. This includes a mixture of ingredients used for dry and oily hair.
- Normal hair doesn’t require a hair mask. However, it couldn’t hurt to apply a natural hair mask once a month.
