How to Achieve Great Bangs

bangs

styling great bangs“I want great bangs everyday,” exclaimed my friend Sara. She was frustrated that she could never style her new bangs – which she had been wanting for months – the same way they looked when she first had them cut and styled.

When you have bangs, it’s not an unrealistic expectation to want them to look fabulous every day. Realistically speaking, we know this isn’t always the case.

If you want great bangs day in and day out, there’s actually a bit of maintenance involved. To that point, I asked Sara if she realized that fabulous bangs are a result of fabulous upkeep. Her reply, “No.”

So, the first piece of advice to anyone considering getting a haircut that incorporates fringe (as the British call it), make sure you are ready to take good care of them.

A good indicator that shows you’re ready is if you’re good at caring for plants; watering them regularly and helping them thrive. If you are, then chances are, you’ll be able to maintain this type of haircut.

Now, let’s explore five helpful tips to sporting great bangs everyday.

Expert Tips to Styling Great Bangs

  1. Trim your fringe every three to four weeks to make certain they keep the style you have in mind.
  2. Blow dry your fringe with a round brush completely straight, and then use your hands to style them into place.
  3. If you’re looking to achieve a choppy look, use hair products such as a paste or wax to create separation. Then, if necessary, spraying with an extra light styling spray to secure the look into place.
  4. If you have frizzy hair, you can still sport hairstyles with fringe, but you’ll need to put in a tiny bit of extra effort to ensure they reflect the look you are going for. You could always do a straightening treatment on your bangs to control the frizz, just be sure to ask your stylist for the right thermal products. Another alternative is to use a flat iron, which I’m sure most ladies have at home already.
  5. If you have thick hair, ask your stylist to texturize your bangs, which will remove some volume and soften the ends to create an airy look.
