February is the month of love, and at the center of it all is Valentine’s Day—the most romantic day of the year. So you see, love is in the air and love is in the hair!

This Valentine’s Day, make sure to save your unfinished bottles of champagne so you can use it as a hair rinse to bring out your natural highlights and to create shine and add volume.

In fact, you can use any brand of champagne you prefer, from the cheapest like Andre, one of my favorite brands, to the most expensive like Dom Perignon White Gold Jeroboam which costs as much as an Audi A5 (2014)–$40,000.
Regardless of which brand you choose, follow these three simple steps to concocting your very own home-made champagne hair rinse:
- Gently pour champagne onto damp hair and comb it through, root to tips.
- Let the champagne absorb into your luscious locks for a few minutes (no more than five).
- Then rinse out the champagne and blow dry for desired style.
After doing this rinse, your hair should look brighter, and if your hair color is blond or a derivative of this color, the champagne will bring out the golden tones in your highlights.

Overall, hair of all colors should look extra shiny and have a bit more volume. If your goal is to have extra volume, put a little bit of champagne in a spray bottle and add a spritz directly to your roots before blow drying your hair.
