It’s summer time and maintaining healthy hair while having fun outdoors is a major concern for many young ladies. Lots of friends I know are either at the beach, lounging by the pool, or participating in an outdoor activity. Whether they have colored- or virgin-hair, or are a blond or brunette, all are at risk for damaging their hair.
When hair is exposed to UV rays, and chlorinated or salt water, it can cause the hair to look dull and damaged, feel dry and rough, and cause colored hair to fade.

To maintain shiny and healthy hair during the summer months, keep these three tips in mind:
- Use hair-care products with UVA and UVB protection, especially for color-treated hair.
- Make sure to thoroughly wash hair after exposing it to excessive sunlight, chlorinated water and/or salt water.
- Try using a hair-mask at least once a week to condition and strengthen dry and damaged hair.

Most importantly, remember to apply sun block with Sun Protection Factor (SPF) 30 while enjoying outdoor activities.
The Dual-Purpose Sunscreen for Healthy Hair During Summer Months
There’s a lot of talk about protecting human skin from the sun (rightfully so!), but you don’t hear much about protecting human hair. Truth is, there aren’t very many products that help protect your hair against damaging UV rays. However, there are a few hair protectants on the market that are made for this very purpose.
One of those products is Clarins Sunscreen Care Oil Spray Broad, a hair sunscreen with SPF 30 that helps to add moisture and extra shine while protecting your hair from excessive heat. I recommend picking up and using it throughout your summer adventures to keep your hair healthy.
It’s worth every penny!
